News went viral about Mohanlal joining with Premam director Alphonse Puthren after the director showered praises for making the teaser of Oppam which was incredible for its cuts. After that it was almost confirmed that they will join soon for a project.

It was said that actor decided to rope in Alphonse Puthren for a project produced by S. L. Vimal Kumar. But now it is heard that it is dropped because S. L. Vimal Kumar is not in friendly terms with Alphonse Puthren`s father-in-law, producer Alwyn Antony. The producer fears that Alwyn will nose into the affairs of the project thereby obstructing its smooth functioning.

Mohanlal reportedly agreed to the producer and has given nod in choosing a director of his liking. The actor has given him dates because his earlier project titled Lokpal with this producer was a flop at the box office. Those close to the actor revealed that Alphonse will definitely get dates of Mohanlal but it will be under a different banner.
